Welcome! My mission is to provide you with a comprehensive review of what your horse currently eats and how his/her diet may be improved. For my backround see 'BIO' below. If you decide you'd like my help/input this is what you will get/ how it works:

1. I'll send you a intake form via email- asking you several questions about your horse's current feed, supplements, lifestyle and other basic backround info. I also ask that you send a photo of ideally both yourself and your horse via email if possible.

2. After some review, ( a few days or so) I'll send you a detailed analysis of the current feed/supplements including specifics on what's good and what's not so good and why.

3. I'll also send a comprehensive re-design of all components of feed. In other words, a  new menu plan complete with nutritional highlights specific to your horse. I will attach various links related to the information I provide to encourage and guide your own online research/learning experience.

4. Any questions you may have from these reports, I ask that you write them down and email them to me- as many as you like! I will take the time- a few days or so - to answer them via email again.

5. I will follow-up with you via a phone call to talk about any loose-ends and final questions you may have.

6. Should you decide to implement a new meal plan for your horse I offer a follow-up consult for no extra charge via email once the new meal plan is in place  to find out how the horse is doing and any concerns you may have. After receiving your email- depending on the situation I may either email back and/or give you a call to discuss the status.

FEE: My fee structure is designed on a sliding scale and the honor system. I do not want people who cannot afftord the fee to not use my services, so the suggested fee is $125 (covers items 1-6 above)

* items 1-5 are to be completed within a 1 month period of time.
* item # 6 is to be completed within a 2 month period of time after the initial consultation is over.

OPTIONAL:

 FOLLOW-UP CONSULT - $50 (sliding scale starting at $20)
Within 6 - 12 months of the last consultation I am available to discuss any adjustments or changes to the diet.

TRAVEL TIME - $15.00/per every 30 minutes of driving time-sorry but this fee is fixed.
I can meet you and your horse in person! For ex. if you live 30 minutes away, the fee to come see you = $30.00 round trip (one hour of driving time)

ANIMAL COMMUNICATION: $50 (sliding scale starting at $20)
This is recommended to have with your nutritional consult for a more comprehensive understanding of your horse and his/her needs. You will get an email detailing the main issues that come up with respect to nutritional/body support needs.

I was about 6 years old when the first Black Beauty movie came out- my father brought me to see it and since then I have been committed to working with and being around horses. Their healing presence and big friendship was a great source of comfort to me in my childhood as I grew up in the shadow of my mother's terminal brain cancer (she passed away when I was 14). The barn was always a sanctuary, a magical place of growth, vitality and space and the horses were my heros. I wanted to know everything I could possibly know about them and have since done extensive research on them both academically and in the field. I have an ever-growing personal collection of academic equestrian healthbooks and books related to communicating with horses. I am also currently studying the subjects of clearing charkras, reading auras, healing DNA, using crystals and essential oils to promote and facilitate healing and developing my intuitive communication abilities with animals.

I pursued marketing and psychology at Umass as well as pre-veterinarian classes and got my Bachelors in 1990. I was lucky to have the opportunity to meet my celebrity horsey idols George Morris and Chris Kappler at an Olympic level competition I was helping to promote in Rhode Island shortly after graduation. After several jobs in the equestrian industry, including working under, learning from and conditioning horses for Paula Paglia www.paulapagliadressage.com and Jamal Jadidi of www.bostonequestriancenter.com both Olympic level riders in dressage and show jumping respectively, I realized that the competitive show world simply was not for me. I was more interested in the horses' well-being and health than in challenging myself to 'be in the ribbons' and traveling to shows. I also felt the stress that these horses go through and wanted to find out how I might help the horses in that lifestyle to be more comfortable. I moved on to freelance teaching and training horses and wrote and published "Teaching Beginners to Ride"www.teachingbeginnerstoride.blogspot.com ( amazon.com andbarnesandnoble.com )

After my Uncle's passing in 1996, I was able to work in his retail mattress stores BestRest Mattress throughout Central Massachusetts- this was a welcome change for me after the sometimes dangerous and physically demanding work with horses. I quickly learned the growth potential of the mattress business and decided to open my own store in Amherst Ma in 2001- Sleepy Hollow Bed Co., Inc. I later changed the name to Discount Mattress to reflect the dynamic marketplace at the time. After 8 yrs. in business, being Voted # 1 Mattress Store in the Valley year after year and over $4 Million in sales, I decided to close that business. The economy and my desire to 'tough it out' both went downhill- and thank goodness for that, because it allowed me to pursue what I know I am meant to pursue- working with horses.
I am extremely grateful for all the lessons I learned in my childhood about disease, the experience I got working with top-level competition horses and their trainers and my business experience- I consider them all pre-requisites for my work as a equine nutrition intuitive consultant.

I live in Pelham, MA with my husband and 3 cats. My horse Roscoe, a half Belgian and Qtrhorse/Thoroughbred gelding crossed over in 2012  but I feel his presence in my life daily.
